Sometimes we just need ten tiny breaths to see the light…
This is about a girl who lost herself in the uncontrollable ocean of emotions. Everything was taken from her; her parents, best friend, and her boyfriend in a terrible accident. She was battling with the waves as she was swallowed down a rabbit hole. All who was left was Livie, her sister, and herself. She had to try to live again. She was always the “messed” up one but now she is on one step higher then before. *The girl is cray cray!
You follow her journey, as she moves into a crummy apartment with her sister in Miami after running away from her deranged and creepy aunt and uncle. She befriends a girl name Storm (nickname) and Trent (her next door neighbor). Even though she is trying so hard to to deal with life, she was submerged into drugs and sex to hide the pain she was dealing with. Until her sister had to rescue her from the damages she was doing. The story makes you feel what Kasey is feeling. You have front row seats to her life as she tries to unfold the layers. Yet, she secretly wants to start a new life. She has romance, a connection with someone and that is Trent.
I need to take a moment to express my admiration for the explanation of Trent. He’s beautiful and I solute you Tucker for creating him….as well as his dimples.
He is this guy that makes her weak in the knees and yet she doesn’t given in…yet. She is too hurt. She can’t just suddenly move on–but she wants too. But we all know Trent isn’t perfect as well. He’s hiding a dark secret. Oh the twists are INCREDIBLE in the story! I am just going to say that because I was blown away. kudos for keeping me at the edge of the seat and feeling all these crazy emotions!
K.A. Tucker’s writing style was easy to connect. You can fall for the characters, feel like you’re in the situations that were being written for you. I was impressed with the plot, the strength of the characters and the challenges that they had faced. I like Livie and how she tried to ground Kasey. It’s funny how the little sister, Livie seemed to be like the “mom” in the relationship. Trying to make sure her sister doesn’t sink to the bottom of the ocean.
I highly recommend this book. It had all the things I looked for in a read, there was some predictable parts but the ending was mind blowing. Can’t wait to get my hands on part two.
